Who Is SEO For?

Who Is SEO For?

The short answer is any business with a website needs SEO.

If you aren’t optimizing your websites stop burying your head in the sand and get on it!

SEO isn’t something you push to the side and think about later.

If you’re serious about your business and building your online presence then SEO is a must.

You may be sitting thinking what is seo? Well we have a great blog to help you come to grips with it, click here to read it.

SEO is essentially the main tool for you to get organic traffic to your website and to get your website to the top of the search engine results page.

How many of you are sitting there right now unhappy with where your website ranks on Google?

If you are unhappy about your positioning the likely cause is that you have neglected SEO.

It can be quite a daunting task especially for people who don’t fully understand it.

There’s a lot of technical words and if you don’t do a good job with your SEO you risk sending your website even further down the search engine results page.

You shouldn’t even be thinking about whether or not optimizing your website is worth it, good quality SEO on your website is 100% worth it.

SEO is particularly important for those with a business for a fixed location who need to get customers through the door or to their online store.

What Is The Difference Between SEO And Marketing?

What Exactly Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Why Do You Need SEO?

arrow on graph showing potential growth whilst using seo

The simplest way to answer this question is to follow it up with a couple of questions of my own.

Do you want more customers? Do you want more traffic to your website? Do you want to appear higher on search engines?

If you’ve answered yes to those questions then you need to be thinking about your SEO.

You’d be amazed by the number of people who just ignore SEO and then wonder why their website doesn’t get the traffic that they want.

Sometimes people neglect SEO as it is time consuming but like anything if you want success you need to be prepared to put the time and effort in.

SEO is one of those things that you firstly need to make sure it is good and following all the rules.

But you also need to constantly update it due to Google changing their algorithms all the time.

You will actually have a negative impact on your website if you try to cheat your way to the top and do what they call black hat techniques.

Good quality SEO can have such a positive impact on your website and help grow your business and customer reach.

If your website isn’t where you want it to be when you search your type of business and the area you are in, you need to be developing an SEO strategy to boost your online presence.

What Companies Benefit The Most From SEO

people raising there hands to show they want seo

Any company in the world can benefit from optimizing their website and increasing your visibility on search engines.

However SEO is more beneficial to some businesses than others.

For instance the one and only grocery store in a small town won’t benefit entirely from SEO as most of their customers already know about the store and they have no competition.

Companies that require SEO are often in larger built up areas with various levels of competition.

If you have a service or even a product that people are searching for, SEO will benefit your business.

Physical Therapists

People search for medical ailments and pains all the time.

If you’re searching for something like bad back treatments in my area the chances are you’re going to click at most the first three options that appear on the search engine.

The online presence of a company and where they appear on a search engine like Google can influence a person’s decision greatly.

It is vital in order to gain trust and develop web searches into customers that your physical therapy clinic is ranking high on Google.

People are searching and looking for help in the area that they live in so you need your clinic to be in their search.
You need to know who your target audience is and show up on the top of their search results to draw them into your clinic.

It’s no good to you if you’re not appearing on the map of a google search or even worse on pages 4-5 of the search results.

People simply won’t see you and if you are that low down they’re likely to not fully trust the credibility of your business.

It’s vital for physical therapists to use local SEO practices and generate new organic traffic to their website.

You can have a huge advantage targeting local SEO as the vast majority of your target audience will be within a local radius of your clinic.

Dentists

Similarly to physical therapists dentists are in the niche crowd of just needing to target local SEO.

You may have the best clinic in the world and you’re getting traffic from London but if you’re based in California it’s very unlikely that traffic will result in paying customers.

The only anomaly of that rule being people searching for Turkey Teeth, where people fly out to Turkey to get cheaper deals on their teeth whiteners and veneers.

Apart from that aside let’s say you are based in San Francisco, California and somebody searches toothache San Francisco. You want to appear ideally in the top three results.

A good solid local SEO strategy will guarantee you will eventually overtake your competitors and generate more organic traffic to your website.

Veterinarians

Again a veterinary website has very similar targets and goals as that of other medical clinics and websites.

Local visibility is key and if you’re in a highly competitive area with multiple veterinarians you need to make sure your website can be seen.

SEO needs to be at the top of your priority and key to your marketing strategy.

People are turning to the internet more and more to see what is wrong and how they can help their pets.

It’s vital that you put keywords into your website that people will be searching for.

This isn’t a free pass to just stuff keywords all over your website as Google will actually punish you for that.

You want to encourage people into your clinic and you do that by having a solid SEO strategy with a website that has good quality content.

Car Dealerships

Car dealerships in the past probably didn’t need an SEO strategy or a good quality website.

Word of mouth and return customers were often at the bases of their deals and success.

However the world doesn’t work like that anymore and now more and more people turn to everyone’s friend Google to help them find what they want.

You can buy cars online and from all over the country now so dealerships need a good SEO strategy in place.

If someone is looking to buy a car, they’re going to put what vehicle they want into a search engine and if your dealership doesn’t show up you’re going to miss out on a sale.

According to Google a typical buyer’s journey can involve 139 Google searches and 69 dealer interactions.

Granted not every interaction is going to end in a sale but you need to make sure you’re at least a part of the conversation.

Real Estate

The real estate industry is all about trust from both the real estate companies themselves and the agents doing the deals.

Both the company and the agents need to have a strong online presence to install trust and credibility upon potential buyers and sellers.

Local SEO is again hugely important for real estate industries as people will generally be searching for “homes in….”.

Real estate itself is such a hugely competitive area so any advantage you have over your competitors is needed.

To stand out from the crowd you need an effective innovative marketing and SEO strategy.

Due to people dealing with such valuable and costly things as homes you’re not going to get any deals if you don’t appear high up in the search results.

People just won’t trust you with something so important to them.

Hotels, Restaurant & Bars

Wherever you are in the world, hotels, restaurants, bars and cafes are everywhere.

If you’re new in town, on a city break or on holiday more often than not you’ll be searching for “places to stay”, “places to eat” or “places to drink”.

The hospitality industry is cut throat so it is so important to market yourself and to gain new customers everyday.

Using effective SEO can help increase your brand awareness and get people through the door.

One thing that is so important to hospitality is the use of reviews, get your customers to leave a review.

People trust online reviews immensely, if you’ve got multiple positive reviews its more likely that you’ll attract new customers.

Barman serving drinks

Maintenance Professionals

Any sort of business within the maintenance industry needs to appear on the search engine results these days.

Often loyalty to your tradesman has gone and people use Google to find the best match for them these days.

Whether you’re a plummer, electrician, builder, gardner or anything within that field you need to boost your online profile.

If you are in a built up area with multiple people in similar lines of work you need to be able to stand out from the crowd.

You may not think it is important and just rely on word of mouth but you can increase your customers vastly if you can appear on the first page of the search engine results.

Online Businesses

If your business is online you’re entirely at mercy to your online presence and where you rank on search engines.

You should know that if you are solely online you need strong visibility otherwise people will simply never find your business.

Online businesses have no choice but to use an effective SEO strategy to draw traffic to their website.

You need to expand your business as much as possible and can’t rely on local SEO as much as somewhere that has location.

SEO and social media engagement is vital to build your business and get quality leads.
