You don't need years and years of industry experience (although that would of course be most welcome). You just need to be able to demonstrate that you really do know what you’re talking about when it comes to web development. You will need to PROVE that you have the required skills - if you are selected for first interview it will take place on Zoom and you will be required to share your screen and show working projects and your development environment. We need someone who loves writing markup and code and also enjoys working with WordPress. If you have experience creating WordPress plugins that would be a definite advantage.
This is not really a client-facing role although there may be occasions when you need to meet with clients on Zoom and you will certainly need to communicate with clients by email and via our support ticket system. The role doesn’t involve any selling or pitching for new business. It’s a purely technical role, to provide support for existing websites (mostly WordPress) and assist in the building of new sites. No design skills required (but if you have an eye for design then that could be useful at times).
You will be joining a small team (currently the business owner / web developer, a project manager, another web developer and an SEO specialist) and you will be a very important part of that team and of the growth of the business.
Initially this will be a part time role with flexible hours. As the business grows (we have been on a steady upward growth path for the last 5 years) you will be asked to work more hours. Eventually, we anticipate this being a full time role (although if you only wanted to work a maximum of 30 hours a week in the future, we could probably accommodate that!). This role could be ideal for someone who is currently freelancing and would like a little bit of stability and predictability in their income while continuing with their freelance work.
